Who is Carter Donaghue?
The “C” in Cdog comes from the owner’s name, Carter Donaghue. Carter is an alumni of Rocky River High School. He has always enjoyed doing yard work and originally got involved in landscaping 10 years ago while working for his uncle’s business. When COVID hit in 2020, with the time off school he decided to expand his time commitment to the landscape industry. Due to great support in the community and the quality of work he displays, year one was a great success. Carter is currently attending Tri-C for Landscape Design to gain more knowledge in the industry and to constantly grow in his work.
What makes Cdog Lawn and Landscape Unique?
“The quality of work that we offer is what makes us different from our competitors. One example is that we bring curb appeal to your property by edging your curb each visit we do. To save time while lawn mowing, some companies do biweekly edging, but we do weekly edging to make sure your property looks pristine each week.”
Cdog Lawn and Landscape uses Smith Bros mulch, which has a deeper coloring which lasts longer than many of their competitors. The wood in their mulch comes directly from trees. Carter says they stay clear of wood from pallets because that leads to construction debris getting mixed into their mulch.
Most importantly, Carter is proud of using weed killer that doesn’t contain harmful chemicals, so it protects any children or animals that walk onto the property after they treat it. The weed killer consists primarily of vinegar to keep it safe and good for the planet.
Cdog Lawn and Landscape is proudly in charge of mowing the fields for the Rocky River Little League. Carter said “I am grateful for the opportunity to make sure this hometown favorite place looks great. Even though its a little league, my goal is to make it look like a MLB field.”
Last fall, Cdog got the wonderful opportunity to help NASA repair their grass at the John Glenn Research Center. Carter says, “It was a challenging project because material had to be shipped in from out of state and they had to get inspected before being used on the project. It was a big project, but with great teamwork our crew was able to get it done effectively and efficiently.”
